For most customers, we recommend tape drives for protecting your data against disaster. Tape allows a simple mechanism to automate the copying of data which is easily removed off-site to protect against fire.
Organisations with more complex data protection needs may require a more complex solution, utilising a combination of solutions.
HP Ultrium tape drives
Tape drives are our preferred solution for small & medium sized companies. The ultrium drives are available in a range of sizes to suit most needs.

HP StorageWorks Ultrium 232 Tape Drive
The HP StorageWorks Ultrium 232 Tape Drive is the newest LTO1 drive on the market and the fastest in our portfolio. This affordable superdrive delivers enterprise-class backup capacity, performance, and reliability at a midrange price. With a compressed capacity of 200 GB per data cartridge and a compressed data transfer rate of 115 GB per hour, this LTO1 drive is read-and-write compatible with all first-generation Ultrium Tape Drives and media. Its media can be read by any LTO1, 2, or 3 drive from any manufacturer. Despite its low cost, the Ultrium 232’s rugged design delivers excellent reliability and includes many of the advanced features of its bigger siblings.
HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448 Tape Drive
The HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448 Tape Drive, based on second generation LTO technology, is positioned as the affordable tape backup solution. It provides mid-range customers with the best mix of features and value today and in the future, for protecting data on their mid-range SCSI and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS)-based servers.
The Ultrium 448 Tape Drive delivers a compressed storage capacity of 400 GB per data cartridge using LTO 2 media. By doubling the capacity of the current half-height HP Ultrium 232 Tape Drive, customers will now use fewer data cartridges to meet their storage needs, reducing their IT costs and increasing their return on investment.
Capable of backing up half a Terabyte of storage in 2.5 hours, the fast performance of the Ultrium 448 is enhanced by HP’s exclusive dynamic data rate matching feature which can match the throughput of the host. The Ultrium 448 Tape Drive is fully read-and-write compatible with all first and second-generation Ultrium drives and media.
HP StorageWorks Ultrium 920 Tape Drive
The HP StorageWorks Ultrium 920 Tape Drive is the highest capacity, fastest performance half-height tape drive in the StorageWorks family. Based on HP’s third generation LTO technology, the Ultrium 920 delivers a compressed storage capacity of 800 GB per data cartridge and a compressed data transfer rate of 432 GB per hour, two and a half times faster than the previous generation Ultrium 448 tape drive. Multiple drive models are available for the compact, half-height Ultrium 920 Tape Drive including internal, external, and 1U rack-mount model.
The Ultrium 920 Tape Drive is fully read -and-write compatible with all second-generation Ultrium media, and offers further investment protection through its backward-read compatibility with first-generation Ultrium media.

HP Storage Server ML350
The HP ProLiant ML350 G5 Storage Server is Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution built upon proven fifth generation HP ProLiant server technology and the Windows Storage Server 2003 Release 2 (WSS2003 R2) operating system.
The ML350 G5 Storage Server delivers a&nsbp;versatile, simple-to-manage, high performing and reliable networked attached storage server ideal for small and medium businesses or branch office locations.
Because the hardware is pre-configured and the software is pre-installed the storage server can be deployed quickly and easily. The HP ProLiant ML350 G5 Storage Server offers a redundant OS partition and quick-restore functionality via DVD for system protection and recovery.
HP ProLiant ML350 G5 Storage Server is available in three models based on capacity. Three models use internal SATA hard disk drives and is available with 960GB, 1.5TB or 3TB of raw capacity. One model uses internal SAS hard disk drives and is available with 1.8TB of raw capacity.
HP Storage Server DL380
The HP ProLiant DL380 Storage Server is a network attached storage (NAS) solution, delivering quick and simple storage with multi-protocol file support and storage management for the enterprise and workgroups environment, and requires limited IT knowledge.
The DL380 Storage Server is both an appliance and NAS/SAN fusion storage solution that offers ease of installation and management features that reduce overall total cost of ownership (TCO).
The DL380 Storage Server is ideal for customers with limited IT resources who need quick, simple, rapidly deployable flexible storage and remote manageability.
The DL380 Storage Server uses Microsoft’s Windows Storage Server 2003 Release 2 operating system. It provides excellent storage management, data protection, performance tuning and print services, allowing customers to manage their storage efficiently.
